Kisses

Here's Ethan playing "kissy face" with Elmo yesterday. It was just too cute not to share!

I must say that watching my husband evolve into a father has been one of the neatest, most rewarding things for me. I really think it's a "process" for guys, not this instant knowledge or "instinct" per say, as it is for women. I remember being so frustrated with him when Ethan was an infant, thinking "why don't you get it?!" But, in hindsite, he really didn't and this little, fragile, infant was terrifying to him! He is so good with Ethan now, he thinks of so many fun things for him to do and I'm always asking myself "why didn't I think of that?" and I love it! I can't wait to see the things they do together as Ethan gets older! Things other then fishing that is!!

Yesterday, he had Ethan helping him change batteries in one of his toys. Not only did Ethan hold the screwdriver right, but he fit in on the screw and twisted in the right direction....with almost no help! If there's any guys reading this....I know you're very impressed (as daddy was)! Now, Ethan was to "open" all of his toys so he can use the screw driver! Today he brought me at least 3 different toys and said "open, mommy, open". It took me a while to figure out what he wanted, I said 'what do you want mommy to open', and he turns over the toy and points to the battery compartment...I kid you not!

Productive Day

I have to brag a little about how productive I was today! Mostly, because to be quite honest... I have not been very productive lately! My house was definitely showing it too! Ethan let me sleep in today today until 8:45! It was wonderful! After we had breakfast and cleaned up I decided we should probably enjoy the sun and snow. Since it's supposed to warm up this weekend, it might all be gone soon (not that I'd complain about that, I'm over it for sure)! So, we got out all the cold weather gear and I was about sweating once we finally got us both dressed!

First, we headed in the back yard to make more of a path for the dogs! Rocki will run through the snow, but Daisi's legs are so short, she can't make it through the deep stuff! A couple times this year, Derek got out the snow-blower to make paths in the yard for them! Anyway, Ethan just stood and watched. Then he'd try to walk a little and fall and say "Mommy, mommy, fall down". I tried to make snow balls, but the snow was too fine, it wouldn't cooperate! Once I worked up a good sweat and was pretty sure that I pulled some muscles in back, we headed to the front yard! I tried to pull Ethan around in his sled, but he wanted nothing to do with it! So I threw him in the snow bank and taught him how to make snow angels! He thought that was fun for about a second, when he realized he couldn't get up! He was so funny, he just wanted to walk around out there, so that's what we did for a while then we came in to have lunch and he was NOT happy about it! He threw himself on the floor, hit the dogs, threw his toys. This went on for a good 15-20mins! He finally got over it and ate lunch.

Then, I vacuumed the house. This wasn't just the average vacuum either, I edged and vacuumed the couches and chair, moved everything around to get under and stuff too! GROSS! I guess with 2 dogs I probably should do that every time I vacuum, but who has the time! Then it was nap time and Mr Ethan decided he was going to talk and play for 2hrs rather then take a nap! I finally got him up and brought him to the basement to "help" me try to find the carpet down there! I finally got all my Christmas stuff back in all the appropriate bins etc.. and put away, then I had to tackle his toys! Our living room isn't very big, so we try to just keep what he actually plays with up there, so I'm constantly bringing stuff down stairs that he outgrows or stops playing with. But there was no rhyme or reason to where it was down there and it was an absolute disaster! It didn't help that Ethan ransacked everything when he's down there too! So, I boxed up all the baby things and organized all of the toys to one area, then I vacuumed down there too! I wish I could say that I had faith it would stay the way it is now, but I am realistic! By the time I was done with all of that, it was time to make dinner! Whew! Anyway, I feel so much better accomplishing something that has been bothering me for - months! Hope you guys had great days too!

Here's Ethan's snow angel.

Here's Ethan not so sure about lying in the snow!

The other day, Ethan was watching "Ein-nine" and Daisi decided she wanted to sit in his chair too! It was so cute!

My Friend Lydia and I took our kids to Christ Memorial to check out they're indoor playground. It was pretty nice. Ethan had fun, but couldn't understand why he couldn't sit at the end of the slide! He got so mad every time I'd move him so other kids could go down it! He really loved going down it too, but then just wanted to stay there!

Ethan knows his numbers now too! He can correctly identify 1-8 and 8 is favorite to say! Tonight Derek got him trying to say cock-a-doodle-doo....that one I have to get on video! It's hilarious! He also loves to say "ahh, ahh, ahh-choo". His Elmo Live does that, he is very, very into Elmo right now! He even gives Elmo big hugs and kisses! So cute! Thankfully Ethan didn't take after me in the way he says truck. He calls it a "guck", I on the other hand used the letter "f" instead of "tr". Very embarrassing for my mom to say the least! Well, I guess you're all caught up! Ta, Ta for now!
